Manali - Ladakh Road

Leh - the capital town of Ladakh is 475 kms from Manali. Road between Manali to Leh is generally open for traffic only three months in a year between 1st of July to 30th of September. We operate tours on this road only between 1st of July to 10th of September only.

There are four high passes and different valleys on this route. The scenery after Rohtang Pass 3978m changes dramatically from lush green Kullu valley to semi barren valleys of Lahaul inhabited by tribal people to barren valleys after Darcha located at the base of Baralachala Pass (4890m) to Ramse - the first village of Ladakh. We arrive Ramse after driving around 275 kms through different barren valleys of trans Himalayan region crossing two high passes on the way, namely - Lochulangla Pass (5050m) and Tanglangla Pass (5400m). There are no villages between Darcha to Ramse.

You can complete this spectacular journey in 2-4 depending on your interest and health condition. If you are travelling in 4 days, then you can also visit few monasteries, temples, tribal people and nomads on side way. You need to acclimatize at Manali and on the way before crossing the high passes. There are many other alternate trekking routes to Ladakh.
