This pioneering tour takes you through the most beautiful regions of northern India, the former kingdom of Spiti, which has recently been open to tourists in 1992. Guru Padmasambhava arrived here in the beginning of 8th century and introduced and established Mahayana Tantric Buddhism at the Gungri monastery. Every village has its own monastery and the lamas dominate the social and cultural life of the community. Our planned tour interspersed with visits to some of these monasteries along the route.

Spiti - Monasteries

Spiti rose to prominence in 1996 when the Tabo Monastery celebrated its thousandth birthday. Tabo and La-Lun are 1000 year old mud constructed monasteries with hanging statues. La Lun is a small monastery and its main temple is called Sar Kang, which means - Golden Temple.
Pin - Bhaba Trek

This five-day trek is rated moderate and you generally need to walk 5-7 hours per day. The trek starts from a barren landscape in the Trans Himalayan region and proceeds over the snow covered Bhaba Pass 4890m to the lush green Bhaba valley of the Lower Himalayas on the other side of the pass.
Shimla - The Summer Capital of India During The British Rule

The present capital of the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh was the summer capital of India during the British rule and most of its buildings were constructed by the Britishers during that era. The Britons laid a railway line in 1903-04 to shift the capital from New Delhi to Shimla.
Journey Through 109 Tunnels

The journey between Shimla to Kalka is one of the most spectacular journeys of northern India. It passes through 109 tunnels starting from the Lower Himalayas through the Shivalik Himalayas to the plains of Haryana.

Pin Parvati Pass was the old trade route between Pin valley and Parvati valley. Its name is derived from the two rivers, which originate from this pass. This trek is one of best treks in the Western Himalayas offering very good views of peaks and passes which are covered with a lot of snow. We start our trek from a lush green valley at Manikarn and pass through villages, hot springs, lots of glaciers in the side valleys, big moraine and a small holy lake to the high pass of over 5000m and then to the Pin Valley. From Pin valley we drive into Spiti and visit some of the most beautiful monasteries in the region and then drive to Shimla, the summer capital of India during the British rule.

In this trek you will walk over the highest pass, 5667m, from where mules can cross and you can enjoy the luxury of trekking without taking too many porters with you. The beauty of this trek is that you visit a mountain lake with a circumference of 65 km and then trek into Spiti. You will also visit most of the beautiful monasteries in Spiti and then drive to Shimla, the summer capital of India during the British rule. From the top of Parang La you can view a lot of peaks and passes of the Great Himalayas. In this trek and tour you can visit most of the Tibetan centres in India.

The landscape in Ladakh is very barren and there are settlements dotted along the river banks. You will find a green stretch of landscape near the irrigated piece of land after a long stretch of barren landscape. The religious monuments in Ladakh is better preserved as compared to those in Tibet.
Tsomorori - Parangla Trek

Tsomotrori is one of the biggest lakes in Ladakh. The circumference of this lake is 65 km. We arrive at the shores of this lake after a spectacular trekking along the land of nomads after crossing a small high pass. We will also cross one the highest mountain pass at Parangla 5667m before arriving in Spiti.

Chandratal - The Moon Lake

Chandratal literally means moon lake. Chandratal is located at the base of Baralachala Pass surrounded by snow capped peaks of Chandra Bhaga range of peaks. You can photograph the mirror image of Chandra Bhaga range of peaks in the crystal clear blue Chandratal lake during the early hours of the morning and late afternoon.
Baralachala - Leh Road

The road between Baralachala Pass to Leh is the most spectacular part of the Manali - Leh road. There are no villages and greenery along the first stretch of 220 km to Ramse. The mountains in this area display many different colors of soil which gives you the feeling that you are travelling on a different planet. The highest point on this route is 5400m.

There are some very good sites from where you can fly for hours and enjoy the natural beauty of formation of Himalayas and view the great Himalayan peaks and passes of over 5500m. There are lot of possibilities of X country, thermalling and ridge soaring. A local pilot with an experience of flying more than 200 hours in local conditions will accompany you and tell you about the local conditions. You need to bring your own paraglider and we will take care of all rest of the arrangements including hotel, guest houses with breakfast, full board tented accommodation at Biling and lunch on the day when we are flying.

11 Days KUMAON HIMALAYAN HIGHLIGHTS

Kumaon Himalayas is easily accessible by road from Delhi within 7-8 hours drive. Kumaon is often confused with the Garhwal, which is other part of Uttrakhand (the Himalayan landscape of Uttar Pradesh), which is located towards its west. Mahakali river forms the international border and divides Kumaon from Napal towards the east. Tibet lies to the north and Tarai (Himalayan foothills) lies towards the south. Kumaon offers very good views of Great Himalayan Peaks and passes of over 6000m. Tarai, the foothill of Himalayas use to be dense vegetative cover of Sal forest and tall grasses and it was house of variety of different wildlife including Asiatic elephant, tigers, crocodile, wild boar, deer, monkeys and lot of other birds and wild animals. Now the nature and wildlife of Tarai is protected in Corbett National Park.

In our planned itinerary, you are visiting Corbett National Park, which is located in large Doon Valley in the foothills of Himalayas. It is well known for sighting a tiger and Asiatic elephant during the months of November to June. Corbett National Park also protects large variety of wildlife and birds other than tigers and Asiatic elephants. In the next stage we are travelling to Kausani, which offers very good views of peaks of Great Himalayas including Trishul (6680m.), Nanda Devi(7816m.), Nanda Kot (6861m.) etc. Our next destination is Naintal, located on top of a hill around a small beautiful Naini lake. You can enjoy a boat ride in this small beautiful lake. If you are energetic enough then you can climb up to a small Chhena peak overlooking the town. We will also visit the seven wonders of the world "Taj Mahal" during the last part of our journey.
